This Privacy Policy explains how Pacific Sport & Spine, LLC, doing business as Movement Fix (“Movement Fix”, “we”, “us”), collects, uses and shares personal information when you visit themovementfix.com (the “Site”), buy a program or course, sign up for our emails or free downloads, or listen to the Movement Fix Podcast on the Site, and the choices and rights you have.
| Privacy at a glance |
|---|
| What we collect. When you buy a program or course, we collect your name, email address, country, state and ZIP code, and we create an account so you can reach what you bought. When you sign up for a free download or our emails, we collect your email address and, if you give it, your first name. |
| Your card number goes straight to Stripe or PayPal. We never see or store it. |
| Health. What you sign up for or buy can hint at a health concern. We use it only to give you what you asked for, and never for ads. See our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy. |
| No ad trackers. We don’t use Meta or Google advertising tools on this Site, and we don’t sell your information or share it for targeted ads. Google Analytics counts visits for us, with Google’s advertising features turned off. |
| Your choice about analytics. In Europe, including the UK and Switzerland, and in Brazil, Google Analytics stays off until you say yes. Everywhere else you can turn it off with “Your privacy choices”, and a Global Privacy Control signal turns it off for you. |
| Emails. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, and we don’t track whether you open our emails. |
| Your rights. Email [email protected] to see, correct or delete your information. |
The rest of this page explains each point in detail.
What we collect
- When you buy: your name, email address, country, state and ZIP code (we need these for sales tax; your city too, only if our sales tax rules ever need it), and what you buy. Your order also records the IP address and browser you ordered from. Your purchase creates an account on the Site with your email address, a username and a password, so you can reach your courses and downloads. While you use a course, we record your progress (lessons started and completed, and quiz answers).
- When you sign up for our emails or a free download: your email address and, if you give it, your first name; which free guide or email course you asked for; and, on some forms, whether you ticked the box to get offers related to that topic.
- When you comment, write a review, contact us or ask to host a workshop: your name, your email address and what you write. Comments and reviews also record your IP address.
- From our previous email services: if you subscribed or bought before we moved our emails to this Site, your subscription and purchase records came from the email services we used before (such as Kit and Brevo).
Payment details. Stripe processes card payments, including Apple Pay, Google Pay and Link when they’re offered at checkout, and PayPal processes PayPal payments. You enter your card details in Stripe’s secure fields or on PayPal, and they go directly to them. We never see or store your full card number. They tell us whether the payment succeeded, and they also use payment details under their own privacy policies, for example to prevent fraud.
Collected automatically. When you visit, our servers record your IP address, browser type, the pages you request, the page that referred you, and the date and time. Depending on your choices and where you are, Google Analytics also records the pages you view and how you reached the Site (see “Cookies and analytics” below). To apply the right privacy rules, we work out your country from your connection or, if that isn’t available, from your device’s time zone, and we note it with any email sign-up. We don’t collect your precise location. We don’t track whether you open our emails or which links you click.
How we use it
- Orders and courses: to take payment, give you access to your programs, courses and downloads, send order and account emails, and answer your questions and refund requests.
- Emails you asked for: to send the free downloads, email courses and newsletter you signed up for, on a form or with the box at checkout. If you tick the box when you sign up for a topic, we also use that topic to send you offers on related programs. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link.
- Analytics: to see which articles and pages help people, and to improve the Site.
- Security and the law: to prevent fraud, spam and abuse (including checking comments for spam), keep the Site secure, keep tax and accounting records, and meet other legal obligations.
Health-related information
Our articles, free downloads and programs are about pain, mobility and exercise, so what you sign up for or buy can hint at a health concern, for example shoulder or low back pain. We treat that information with extra care.
- We use it only to send you what you asked for, run your courses and answer your questions. We use your topic for offers on related programs only if you tick the box when you sign up.
- We don’t use Meta (Facebook and Instagram) or Google advertising tools on this Site, and we never share what you read, ask for or buy with anyone for advertising.
- Google Analytics counts visits for us, with Google’s advertising features turned off. It sees the pages you view, but it never receives your name or email address, and when you sign up or buy, it gets only a code number for the guide or program, not its name.
- We don’t ask for your diagnosis or medical history. Please leave them out of comments and reviews, which are public.
Our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy explains your rights over this information under Washington’s, Nevada’s and similar laws.
Who we share it with
We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t share it for targeted advertising. We don’t give our email list or customer list to Meta, Google or any other advertising company.
| Company | What it does for us | What it receives |
|---|---|---|
| Service providers: they may use your information only to work for us | ||

| Google Workspace | Runs our inbox, [email protected] | What you write to us |
| Google Analytics | Website statistics, with Google’s advertising and data-sharing features turned off | The pages you view, how you reached the Site, a random ID for your browser, your browser and device type, your approximate location (worked out from your IP address, which Google Analytics doesn’t store), and the code number and value of sign-ups and orders; never your name or email address |
| Companies that also use it under their own privacy policies | ||
| Stripe | Takes card payments, including Apple Pay, Google Pay and Link when offered | Your name, email address, billing details, card details, IP address and device details. Stripe also uses them to prevent fraud. |

| Akismet (Automattic) | Checks comments and reviews for spam | What you wrote, your name, email address, IP address and browser details |
| Vimeo, YouTube and Libsyn | Play our course videos, article videos and podcast episodes | Your IP address, browser details and which video or episode it is, as explained under “Video and audio players” below |
Others when required. We also share information when the law requires it, to protect our rights or safety, or as part of a sale or reorganization of our business.
Our email list is kept on our own Site. Fonts on the Site are served from our own server, not from Google, and comments show no Gravatar images.
Cookies and analytics
Google Analytics. Your browser sends Google Analytics the pages you view, how you reached the Site and a random ID stored in the _ga cookies. Our server also tells Google Analytics when someone signs up for a free guide or buys a program, with a code number for the guide or program and the value, but never your name, your email address or the name of what you chose. Google processes this for us under its data processing terms. We have turned off Google signals, ad personalization and Google’s data-sharing features for it, and it isn’t linked to any Google advertising account, so Google doesn’t use it to show you ads. In Europe, including the UK and Switzerland, and in Brazil, Google Analytics doesn’t load until you agree.
We don’t use Meta, Google Ads or other advertising tools, and we don’t use session-recording tools: nothing on the Site records your screen, mouse movements or keystrokes. Apart from the video and podcast players described below, and Stripe’s fraud checks on the pages where you pay, we don’t let other companies collect information about your activity across websites through our Site.
A cookie is a small file a website saves in your browser. Here is every cookie our Site sets, and what each one is for.
| Name | What it does | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|
| Needed for the Site to work (always on) | ||
| woocommerce_cart_hash, woocommerce_items_in_cart, wp_woocommerce_session_* | Keep your cart and checkout working | Until you close your browser; the session cookie lasts 2 days, or 7 days while you’re logged in |
| __stripe_mid, __stripe_sid (set by Stripe on the pages where you pay) | Make payments work and help prevent fraud. Stripe also sets its own fraud-prevention cookie on stripe.com. | 1 year; 30 minutes |
| wordpress_logged_in_* and other WordPress login cookies | Keep you logged in so you can reach your courses | 14 days after a purchase or if you tick “Remember me” when you log in; otherwise until you close your browser. Logging out removes them. |
| mf_coupon | Holds a discount code from an email link until you check out | Up to 1 day |
| fc_hash_secure (only on our email confirmation and preference pages) | Lets those pages recognize you | 90 days |
| mf_consent | Remembers your privacy choice | 12 months |
| mf_geo | Remembers which region’s privacy rules apply to you | 1 day |
| mf_gpc | Notes that your browser sent a Global Privacy Control signal | Until you close your browser |
| Remembering our sign-up forms (no personal details inside) | ||
| mf_subscribed | Remembers that you signed up | 1 year |
| mf_magnets | Remembers which free downloads you asked for, so we don’t offer them again | 1 year |
| mf_customer | Remembers that you are a customer | 2 years |
| mf_popup_seen | Stops the sign-up pop-up from opening again by itself | 7 days |
| Analytics (in Europe, including the UK and Switzerland, and in Brazil, only if you agree; elsewhere you can turn them off with Your privacy choices) | ||
| _ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics: tell visits and visitors apart | 2 years after your last visit |
| mf_landing | Remembers the page where your visit started | 30 days |
| mf_ab_* | Remembers which version of a sign-up form you saw when we test two versions | 30 days |
Video and audio players
Article videos play from YouTube or Vimeo, and podcast episodes from our podcast host, Libsyn. On articles and podcast pages, YouTube and podcast players load only when you press play. Vimeo players, including the lesson videos inside a course you’ve bought, load with the page. When a player loads, that service receives your IP address, your browser details and which video or episode it is, and it may set its own cookies under its own privacy policy. We use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode and Vimeo’s “do not track” setting.
Your privacy choices
We don’t sell your personal information or share it for targeted advertising, so there is nothing you need to opt out of. You can turn Google Analytics off on this browser at any time with the Your privacy choices link at the bottom of every page. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we turn Google Analytics off for that browser automatically. Your choice is saved in the mf_consent cookie on this browser for 12 months. You can also block Google Analytics on every website with Google’s browser add-on.
We don’t respond to “Do Not Track” browser signals, which have no agreed standard, but we honor Global Privacy Control as described above. Nevada residents: we don’t sell covered information as Nevada law defines it, but you can still send an opt-out request to [email protected].
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us what personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct or delete it, and you can unsubscribe from our emails at any time. Email [email protected] and write “Privacy request” in the subject line. Deleting your account also removes your access to the courses you bought. We don’t make decisions about you by automated means that have legal or similarly significant effects.
US state privacy rights
Depending on the state you live in (for example California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia and others with similar laws), you have the right to know what personal information we collect, use and disclose, and to get a copy of it; to correct it; and to delete it. You also have the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information and of targeted advertising, but we don’t do either. For these rights, email [email protected]. Washington and Nevada residents also have the consumer health data rights explained in our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy.
We verify requests by matching details you give us (such as your email address and an order number) with our records. You can use an authorized agent; we may ask for proof that you authorized them and ask you to confirm your identity with us. We respond within 45 days, or tell you if we need up to 45 more days. We will not discriminate against you for using your rights.
We never use sensitive personal information, including health-related information, for advertising or to infer characteristics about you. If you agreed to offers based on the topic you chose, you can withdraw that at any time by emailing us; we’ll keep sending only what you asked for.
Appeals. If we decline your request, you can appeal by replying to our decision or emailing [email protected] with the subject “Privacy appeal”. We will answer in writing within 45 days and explain our reasons. If you disagree with the outcome, you can contact your state attorney general.
What we collect, why and who receives it (notice at collection)
| Category | Examples | Where it comes from | Why we use it | Who receives it | Sold or shared for ads? |

| Identifiers | Name, email address, IP address, account username, cookie IDs | You and your device | Orders, course access, customer service, emails, security, analytics | Our service providers | No |
| Customer records | Name, email address, country, state and ZIP code (card details go to Stripe or PayPal) | You | Orders and customer service | Our service providers | No |
| Commercial information | Programs and courses you bought | You | Orders, course access, analytics (code numbers only) | Our service providers | No |
| Internet activity | Pages viewed, the site that referred you, browser and device details | Your device | Analytics and security | Our service providers | No |

| Other sensitive personal information | Your account password; card details (handled by Stripe or PayPal) | You | Only to provide our services | Stripe or PayPal, for card details | No |
Before the current version of this Site, our website used the Meta Pixel, Google Tag Manager, Google AdSense and Hotjar, which gave Meta, Google and Hotjar cookie IDs, IP addresses and information about the pages visited, for advertising and analytics. We have removed all of them. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16.
Free offers in exchange for your email (notice of financial incentive)
Our free downloads, email courses and occasional sign-up discounts are offered in exchange for your email address, which California law calls a financial incentive. The terms are shown where you sign up. You join by submitting the form, and you can leave at any time by unsubscribing; you keep anything we already sent you. We estimate that an email sign-up is worth about $0.40 to us: about 0.7% of people who sign up later buy a program, and our average order is about $54.
If you’re in Europe, the UK, Switzerland or Brazil
Analytics waits for your yes. Until you choose Accept, or switch on Analytics under Preferences, Google Analytics doesn’t load, our server sends nothing to it, and no analytics cookies are set. Reject keeps it off, and you can change your mind at any time with “Your privacy choices”. We use no advertising tools anywhere on the Site.
Why we may use your information.
- Selling you programs and courses, giving you access to them, keeping your course progress and helping you: our contract with you.
- Our emails, free downloads and email courses, and Google Analytics and its cookies: your consent. You can withdraw it at any time; this doesn’t affect what we did before.
- Keeping the Site secure, preventing fraud and spam (including checking comments for spam), publishing comments and reviews you write, and answering your messages: our legitimate interests in running a safe site and helping the people who write to us. We never rely on legitimate interests for analytics or advertising.
- Tax and accounting records, and records that show what you agreed to: our legal obligations.
You don’t have to give us personal information, but we need your name, email address and billing details to sell you a program, and your email address to send the emails, downloads and courses you ask for.
Your right to object. You can object at any time to our use of your information for marketing emails, and we will stop. You can also object to anything we do based on our legitimate interests; we will stop unless we have compelling reasons that override yours or we need the information for legal claims.
Your other rights. You can also ask us to restrict how we use your information, and to give you the information you gave us in a portable format. In Brazil, you can also ask us to confirm whether we use your information, to anonymize, block or delete information that is unnecessary or excessive, and to tell you who we share it with. We answer within one month (15 days for a full answer to a Brazilian access request). If a request is complex, we may take up to two more months and will tell you why within the first month. You can also complain to the data protection authority where you live or work.
Your information is handled in the United States. When you visit, buy a program or sign up for our emails, you send your information directly to us in the United States, where we and most of our service providers process it. Some providers, such as Google, Cloudflare and Stripe, also process it in other countries where they operate. US law doesn’t protect personal information in the same way as the law where you live. Our main providers (Stripe, Amazon Web Services, Google and Cloudflare) are certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and its UK and Swiss extensions, and their data processing terms include the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses. Brevo, our backup email sender, is based in France. You can ask us about these safeguards at [email protected].
How long we keep it
| Information | How long we keep it |
|---|---|
| Your account, orders (including the IP address and browser you ordered from) and course progress | As long as your account is open, so you keep access to what you bought. If you ask us to close your account, we delete your account and course progress, but keep your order records as long as tax and accounting rules require (Washington requires five years). |
| Email sign-ups | While you’re subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we stop emailing you but keep your contact record (your email address, name, sign-up records, the topics you signed up for and which of our emails we sent you), so we don’t email you again by mistake and can show what you agreed to. If you ask us to delete it, we delete everything except your email address, which we keep marked as unsubscribed so we never email you again by mistake. |
| Analytics details saved with an order (the Google Analytics cookie ID and the page your visit started on) | 30 days after the order, then deleted |
| Consent records (the privacy choice saved with an order, and the time, form, page, wording, IP address and region of each email sign-up) | As long as we need them to show what you agreed to |
| Comments and reviews | As long as they are published on the Site, or until you ask us to remove them |
| Messages you send us | As long as we need them to help you and keep a record of our conversation |
| Security logs (IP addresses, logins and failed login attempts) | Our activity log keeps 30 days; other security records only as long as we need them to keep the Site secure |
| Cookies and analytics | Cookies as listed in the cookie table. Google Analytics keeps the detailed records it collects for 14 months and then deletes them; after that we keep only totals, such as how many visits a page had. |
You can ask us to delete your information sooner, except what the law requires us to keep.
Children, security and changes
The Site is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. We use reasonable safeguards to protect personal information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We review this policy at least once a year and may update it. When we do, we change the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell you on the Site or by email.
